To make efforts for the development of classical and traditional music across the country.
To preserve the classical and traditional musical heritage present in different regions and communities of the country.
To conduct and facilitate studies and research on classical and traditional music of the country.
To establish and expand contacts, coordination, and collaboration with established national and international organizations related to classical and traditional music.
To maintain records and archives of classical and traditional music.
To represent, or ensure representation, in activities related to classical and traditional music at the international level.
To make efforts to establish Nepali classical and traditional music at the international level.
To prepare and maintain lists of talents and organizations associated with classical and traditional music.
To organize workshops, seminars, and other programs related to classical and traditional music in Nepal.
To coordinate with other departments and undertake joint activities to the extent possible.
